Statement of purpose and values
The SFNLUA aims to provide an opportunity for all members to actively participate in officiating Australian Rules Football and enhance their positive wellbeing through organised sporting connection. The Association endeavors to provide a positive environment for all its members and officials.
These aims are achieved by promoting and developing the following values and objectives:
o A sense of social and community values
o An environment to nurture the physical and mental development of our group
o Respect for officials, players and supporters
o Fair and disciplined officiating
o Equal opportunities for everyone
o Support for umpire coaches and the Director of Umpiring
This is realised by providing as far as reasonable:
o Quality officiating through continuous improvement
o Accredited coaches and assistants
o Adequate facilities, amenities and equipment
o Active leadership and management of the Association
o Promoting a positive healthy lifestyle
All members, coaches, officials, parents, supporters and committee members always have a responsibility—when representing the SFNLUA—to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner consistent with these values
